As ENCO Logistics, we regularly develop and implement projects to reduce carbon footprint emissions throughout Turkey. One of these steps is donating trees to relevant institutions. As the leading company in the logistics sector, we have recently made a record-breaking donation at the amount we had projected. We will continue to take periodic steps and maintain our tree donation efforts to combat carbon emissions.

Trees and their derivatives absorb excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere through the process of photosynthesis and provide oxygen in return. If we take a single tree as the basis, one tree can absorb 3.7 kilograms of carbon dioxide (CO2) per kilogram of carbon bonding. Our goal is to promote and increase the use of forest products, such as trees and their derivatives, across Turkish soil, and ultimately expand forested areas. To summarize: reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to a maximum extent leads to maximum oxygen production.

If we base this on our recent tree donation: 500 trees, each absorbing 3.7 kilograms of CO2, equates to 500 x 3.7 = 1850 kilograms, or 1.85 tons. Considering that reading newspapers through a mobile application instead of printed versions results in a carbon footprint cleaning of 0.10 grams per page, we have also achieved a significant reduction in emissions. Our goal is to further reduce carbon footprint emissions. One of our most important missions is to raise awareness and encourage everyone in Turkey and around the world.

Road transportation, air, sea, and rail transport—all logistics companies involved in production, consumption, and operational activities—contribute significantly to carbon emissions.
