Textile, one of Turkey’s most important export items, is primarily transported to Germany and other European countries. Since textile transportation involves delicate materials, it requires a different process than transporting other types of goods. The products must not get dirty or be exposed to external factors such as humidity, water, and temperature. Additionally, some items must maintain their ironed form and structural integrity.

TEXTILE TRANSPORTATION PROCESSES

Textile transportation refers to moving products from the manufacturing facility to the final destination. However, this process is more complex than it appears and involves certain risks. Legal requirements in foreign trade, proper storage, and ensuring that the goods reach their destination in the same condition as they left the producer require expertise and a detailed process.

QUALITY CONTROL IN TEXTILE TRANSPORTATION

One of the most critical aspects of textile transportation is product quality control. Especially in cases where brands outsource production to different firms, they may start the export process without inspecting the goods firsthand. The manufacturer delivers the goods to the logistics company, which then handles international shipping. Therefore, quality control must be performed before the goods are dispatched.

STORAGE OF TEXTILE PRODUCTS

Textile products leaving the production facility may be directly loaded onto trucks or other transport vehicles to head to their destination. Another option is storing the products in a warehouse for a while before transport. During this storage period, products must be protected from water, heat, humidity, light, and other environmental factors, and stored according to the type of textile. For example, hanging garments require specialized storage. There are specially designed hanging textile warehouses for this purpose.

TEXTILE TRANSPORTATION METHODS

In textile logistics, methods similar to those used for transporting other products can be applied. Boxed products can be loaded onto pallets and transported to the delivery point. Another frequently preferred method is hanging garment transportation. This allows products to arrive wrinkle-free and undamaged.
